All In

I found myself today reflecting on the term “All In” and realized that it has a greater significance than poker chips.  I believe it actually provides one explanation for what separates the good from the great; low expectations from great expectations; and fear from faith.  The level of our commitment to our dreams, goals, family, career, friends, faith, etc. can actually be one of the factors preventing us or enabling us in realizing the returns we desire!  Just take a moment and think about the people we cheer, admire, and respect the most; they are fully focused, fully invested, and fully dedicated to that “thing”! These people don’t hold back anything. They don’t let doubt, fear, laziness, or negative opinions deter them from pursuing success, happiness, or movement.  Even their failures aren’t failures, but fuel for the fire that burns within.

Are you “All In” or “Partially Committed”?

Go For It!

As I watched the NCAA men’s championship game, I reflected on what the coaches probably told their players. It probably went something like this: “Men now is the time! This is the moment that you worked your whole basketball career for. This is the moment that you go after your dreams.  You worked and sweated all year for this opportunity.   The other team will not give the championship to you and there are people that doubt you can get it done, but I BELIEVE!!  I believe that the championship is yours, but you have to fight for it! I believe that the disappointments and successes prior to now have prepared you for the challenge ahead! Envision yourself as a champion. Envision yourself giving 100% effort to that goal. Envision yourself holding the trophy! Envision your teammates and our fans celebrating! Now go out there and make that vision a reality!!”

I believe in our daily lives that we sometimes need a coach to get us mentally prepared for a challenging day or task. We need someone to tell us to stop complaining and go after our dreams.  We need someone to tell us that all our life experiences prepared us to meet our next challenge! We need to look ahead and not behind; look up and not down; move aggressively forward and not constantly retreating. Envision yourself following through on your dreams!  Envision yourself committing 100% to living happy daily! Envision your family, friends, co-workers, and pets celebrating your happiness with you!! Now get up and make your dreams a reality!!!
